The Markets

There is a farmer's market everyday somewhere in the vincinity! Just enjoy ambling along the stands, to taste here and there for example one of the many varieties of olives, Fromage de Chevre (the region's renowned goat cheese), a spoonful of rosemary honey, hazelnut or blueberry flavoured salami, Tapenade (a tasty olive paste), freshly harvested fruits and vegetables, and many other regional delicacies.

We also frequent almost daily one of the farmer's markets, to get fresh produce for our guests. On demand, we prepare a gourmand "Farmer's market buffet".

The biggest and probably best market takes place on Saturdays in Uzès. There you'll find just about everything you ever have been looking for! From pottery to Provence-style tissue and tablecloth, from Laguiol knives for him to french lingery for her, from fresh oysters to olives, and much more.

The local flea markets are also worth a visit. Real antiques are not given for free, though. However, you may discover a lot of useful or quaint items at reasonable prices. Just have in mind to never accept dealer's initially proposed price. To negotiate is a must! French people just love to palaver, and if you do not know the french language well, communicate with hands and feet! In the end, you'll allways get home with a bargain.

Even if you don't want to buy something, the flea markets are a magnificent camera motif!

On demand, we drop you off at one of the local markets and later on pick you up.
